My name is Josue Rodriguez, born and raised in the mountains of a small town named Lares, Puerto Rico where my parents pastored a church since I can remember. I fell IN LOVE with ministry, and I quickly knew that’s what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. In 2013 God called my family and I moved to Hickory, NC where I had the privilege to stand alongside my dad as we founded a multicultural church called “IChurch;" an organization that started with 30 people in the fellowship of a sister church and now has over 700 people and just inaugurated a new facility. 

 

It was in North Carolina where I met the country girl of my dreams named Hannah Parker from Granite Falls, NC. We got married on October 8, 2015 where I may or may not have cried more than her (lol). For 5 years we have had the honor to experience life with each other, and on May 24, 2021, we gave birth to Mr. Ilian Maverick Rodriguez, the most beautiful 6lb baby boy.

In the middle of all the 2020 chaos, God began to water a seed that He had put in my heart since I was a child but had forgotten was there. And as I watched Latino churches get shut down during the pandemic yet the number of Hispanics in Charlotte grow to over 120,000 people, that seed grew roots and I knew He was calling me to plant a church.

 

Church is my favorite place on earth. The place where I found Jesus, bonded with people, forged values and discovered my purpose. My dream is to build a church that lives up to its name so that I can share with others what I was so blessed to be born into; the true power and joy of church done right. Church was, is, and always will be a house full of life to me. And from those experiences, ‘Casa Viva” was born.
